These unique and adorable Lithops, also known as “Living Stones,” are the ultimate conversation starters! Their stone-like appearance and vibrant patterns make them a favorite among succulent collectors and minimal plant lovers alike. Lithops is a genus of succulent plants in the ice plant family, Aizoaceae. Members of the genus are native to southern Africa. They avoid being eaten by herbivores with their camouflage as small stones, and are often known as pebble plants or living stones.
** CARE INSTRUCTIONS** Standard store-bought cactus and succulent soil is usually too organic and retains too much moisture which can quickly cause root rot. Inorganic/Gritty Components (80–90%): Coarse pumice, perlite, chicken grit, coarse sand, scoria, or decomposed granite (sized like a garbanzo bean or smaller; avoid fine sand which clumps).
Organic Components (10% or less): A small amount of sifted cactus and succulent potting mix or coco coir.
**REPOTTING**
Pot Depth: Use a pot with a drainage hole that is about 3 to 5 inches deep to accommodate their long taproots.
Placement: Position the plant so the base of the body sits just slightly above or level with the top of the soil, and top dress the surface with small gravel or pebbles to keep the plant dry.

Bright indirect light or gentle morning sun, if repotting plant in fast-draining succulent soil, water only when soil is completely dry and avoid prolonged rain and overwatering, do not keep in direct Florida sun outside during the summer months.
Lithops (living stones) require an extremely gritty, fast-draining potting soil that is 80% to 90% inorganic (mineral-based) and 10% or less organic material.
